Join me, Roger S., Adrienne R., and other club members as we travel down to beautiful Morro Bay for the Lighthouse Century.
There are 50, 75, and 100 mile options. Roger and I are thinking about doing the 75 mile route, which is a coastal out and back from Morro Bay up maybe 12 miles north of San Simeon. For those of you who have done AIDS/LifeCycle, the century is a chance to climb Highway 46 from the west - a reverse Evil Twins! One of the nice things about this ride is that while you specify a route preference when you register, you can decide which route you want to do n the day of the event.
We'll be driving down Friday and going out for dinner Friday night somewhere to be determined in the San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles/Morro Bay area. Staying at the Hotel Buena Vista (or hotel, or camping arrangement of your choice) in San Luis Obispo Friday and Saturday night. Riding Saturday, with dinner at Adrienne's afterwards. And then heading home Sunday morning. The central coast is a special part of the world - great cycling there, and the late September weather should be spectacular.
