NOTE: Please remember to wear your helmet. Distance: 42 miles Pace: B/C (moderate to brisk, few stops) Terrain: 4 (hills, some steep climbs with some relief) Total elevation gain: about 2,300 ft. This ride begins at the north end of Cañada Road in San Mateo. This is one of the most popular cycling roads in the Midpeninsula. After weaving through Woodside we'll do the Portola loop, probably the most popular cycling route in the area, before turning off at Arastradero to head to Los Altos Hills for some short but steep climbs. After we return to the flats we'll wander through Los Altos tech business parks before taking Foothill and then Sand Hill Road back to Woodside and Cañada Road. I don't have a lunch stop planned, so bring snacks and plenty of water. Meet at the north end of Cañada Road at the intersection of Highway 92. Park on the Cañada Road shoulder. Meet at 9:30 am with a 10 am roll out. For a cue sheet, map, and GPS track, go here.
