This is a lovely ride (thanks, Brian Midili, for promoting it!). Starting in Half Moon Bay, we'll ride along the coastal trail, gawking at gulls and rich people playing golf at the Ritz golf course (Fore!!). We'll head inland and up to the Purisima Creek Open Space Preserve where we'll enjoy a cool, gentle climb along Purisima Creek. Once we cross the creek, though, you'll get to know your climbing muscles as we pedal up 1,400 feet in three miles. At the top we'll head north on Skyline (bring bright tail lights if you have them, you want to be seen on that road). At the North Ridge trailhead we'll head back down the hill (3 miles, 1,500 feet), this time on delightful single track. Back at the lower parking lot, we'll catch the road back to Half Moon Bay.
Meals:
Half Moon Bay Bakery is two doors down from the start/finish and there's water at the North Ridge Parking lot.
Sweeps? No
Is this a "no rider left behind" ride? No, but we will have a few regroups. We will keep an eye out for each other but if you are a new rider please either know the route or bring a map in case you get dropped from the group.
