Pink Thursday

Note: You must preregister to join this ride.

Distance: 3.5+ miles
Pace: B (moderate, occasional stops)
Terrain: 4 (hills, some steep climbs, with some relief)
Elevation gain: 880 feet.

Let's try something different. The pink triangle on the side of Twin Peaks, all lit up from dusk to dawn, is gorgeous. Let's ride our bikes up the hill just before sunset and have a closer look at the light show from some different angles.

We’ll ride from Hibernia Beach (the plaza in front of Bank of America at 18th and Castro) in the Castro, and take mostly side streets up to Twin Peaks. We can expect anything from a gorgeous sunset to being engulfed by a fog and blasted by wind, and anything in-between - it is San Francisco in the summer! Dress accordingly!

June 23 is one of the longest days of the year (sunset is 8:35). But be sure to bring lights if you think you might want to linger at the top. Expect to take something like half an hour to forty-five minutes for the climb.

From Twin Peaks we'll all make our ways home (or back to our cars in the Castro).

Cue sheet, map, or GPS track are available here.
