Events and Rides - Event View

This year our annual picnic is at a new venue: Old Mill Park in Mill Valley. If you’ve climbed up Mt. Tam ‘the back way’ via Marion then you’ve ridden right through it! This shady spot in the Redwood Grove picnic site is cool while Mill Valley is basking in beautiful sunshine sans fog. And did I mention there’s no fog? Our picnic site has two barbecues and three picnic tables. Please bring something to grill as well as a potluck dish to share. If you plan to ride your bike to Old Mill Park, you can drop off your food at the start, McLaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park, and nice volunteers will transport your goodies to the park. The club will supply soft drinks, plates, and utensils.

If your last name begins with:

A through I -- bring a snack or appetizer;
J through R -- bring a side dish;
S through Z -- bring a dessert.

If you're riding over:

Meet at McLaren Lodge, 501 Stanyan (entrance to Golden Gate Park) at 9:45 AM
Drop off your food there for delivery to the picnic site
The ride to Mill Valley leaves at 10 AM SHARP so we can get there before 11:30 or so

The ride is a straightforward 14-mile shot north towards Tiburon Loop but then turning off the Mill Valley-Sausalito Path at Tam High School and heading into Mill Valley.

However you don’t need to ride to attend the picnic—just come and hang out to enjoy the scenery and the company IRL after a loooong year of Zooming!
