This is the cheater’s way to enjoy Stage Road, which has reopened after a yearlong closure due to last year’s rains. Instead of riding from SF or Palo Alto, we’re cutting it short by starting in Pescadero. Right off the start we head up Stage Road until it hits Highway One and then take it south to Gazos Creek Road, and then back on Cloverdale to our start at Pescadero High School. But we’re also going to ride up Pescadero Creek Road to the Loma Mar Store just five miles away to get a delicious lunch before turning around and heading back to the high school. You can end your ride at the high school and head home or drive up to the Loma Mar and have lunch. Talk about having your cake and eating it too!
This is the fifth ride in a 2024 winter/spring series to help people gear up for late spring and summer riding, including the Wine Country Century, AIDS/LifeCycle, or your first metric or century of the year or ever! We'll have longer and more difficult rides as the series progresses. We'll ride routes all over the Bay Area. Most routes will be without a whole lot of stop signs and lights. We'll try not to ride in the rain, and there won't be a safety speech.
For information about the Loma Mar Store go
here.
And don’t forget to drop by
Norm's Market in Pescadero afterwards to get some artichoke bread to take home!
Rain cancels. Contact ride leader if in doubt. A notice will be posted here and to the club website forum if the ride is cancelled.
Sweeps? No
Is this a "no rider left behind" ride? No, but we will have a few regroups. We will keep an eye out for each other but if you are a new rider please either know the route or bring a map in case you get dropped from the group.
