Chris and I went to this tonkatsu place in Emeryville called Jungdon Katsu. It's amazing, as good as the katsu we had in Japan, and they have outdoor seating. I got the idea of leading an out and back ride from Jungdon to Treasure Island, and then whoever wanted to stay for lunch could.
When we first went, Jungdon had vegetarian and vegan katsu (tofu).They still have some vegetarian sides and small plates but unfortunately no veggie katsu.

The Route
Starting at Jungdon Katsu, we'll head to the Bay Bridge trail, get on the bridge, ride to Treasure Island, fart around a little over there, and then ride back to Emeryville.
This ride is exploratory. That's a fancy way of saying the ride leader only knows the route from maps and we might have to do some exploring as we find our way. East Bay rides to Treasure Island have been few and far between in the Different Spokes canon, but perhaps we can figure it out and make them more frequent. This is a very good ride for newbies, and Lord knows, we don't have enough of those on our calendar.
Group decision how much time to spend riding around and exploring Treasure Island. Consider today's route map as guidance but not necessarily authoritative.

Meeting Place and Parking
Meet at 10:15 AM with a ride out of 10:30 AM in front of Jungdon Katsu. There is a pay parking lot across the street. I'm not sure about street parking in that part of Emeryville.
