The Route
This is a classic city loop with a little extra South East City zest. There are some nice views from the south side. We will finish the ride with a nice long climb from the beach to the top of Twin Peaks before a nice glide down the hill and back to the Castro.
We'll meet at Poesia Café on David Millard standard weekend ride time (i.e. not too early). We will head down to the south east side of the city via the hairball, then stay as close to the water as safety allows to take in the views all the way to Fort Point (bathrooms here) and the Golden Gate Bridge. A quick swoop down by Baker Beach and a climb up to the Legion of Honor will bring us to Land's End, for some more great vistas. Then it's on down Ocean Beach to the bathrooms at Sloat and a an energy stop at Java Beach Café.
We will cut back to Vicente to begin the climb up to Twin Peaks. The route takes us up Ulloa which gets pretty steep although only for a block or so. Folks can detour over to Portola to avoid that if they want. Then it is up and over Twin Peaks and back down to the Castro.

Sweeps: Yes. Regroups may happen as riders wish, and you can always just wait for the sweep, but faster riders should feel free to ride at their own pace.

Helmet, water bottles, tubes, pump/CO2, sunscreen, butt butter and snacks. Remember to LUBE your chain, PUMP your tires, and RECHARGE your lights, bike computer, and electronic shifters if you have them.
