August 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of the Compton’s Cafeteria Riot, an uprising against trans/homophobic police harassment and an important milestone in LGBTQIA+ history. Join SFBike for a bike tour honoring this historic event and highlighting other sites that hold local trans and queer history.

The ride will include approximately five stops between the Tenderloin, SoMa, Mission, and Castro. For each stop historian Amy Sueyoshi will share this history of the location and its relationship to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Meet at UN Plaza (Fulton St and Hyde St) at 1:00pm! This will be a beginner-friendly ride open to all, preview the route here. Please remember to bring a helmet, a water bottle, sun protection, a lock, and snacks to have along the way. And tell your friends!
