Gazos Creek & Stage Road from Half Moon Bay

YOU MUST READ THE DSSF Preliminary Health and Safety Plan AND AGREE TO FOLLOW IT IN ORDER TO JOIN THIS RIDE. ALSO, TO JOIN THIS RIDE YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER.

Terrain: 3 (moderate hills with some challenges)
Pace: C (brisk, few stops)
Distance: 54 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,902 ft. (RWGPS estimate)

This ride will begin with a review of the club's Health and Safety Plan for preventing the spread of COVID-19. Bring a face covering and plan to wear it at all times except when riding more than a safe distance from other riders. Also plan to keep 'socially distant' from other riders when stopped, and no drafting or riding close to others.

We ride south on the Coast Highway and get beautiful views of the ocean. After a brief stop at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse we go inland on Gazos Creek Road and then take Cloverdale Road to Pescadero, where we will stop for lunch at the Arcangeli Grocery Store. After lunch we have one more climb on Stage Road and then scenic back roads on Tunitas Creek (just the beginning) and Purisima Creek Road before returning to the Half Moon Bay Fire Station.

Please bring snacks, plenty of water, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.

The lunch stop will be in Pescadero at the Arcangeli Grocery Store. Either bring your lunch or you can buy it in the store. There is an area behind the store where we can stand (no longer sit) and eat, socially distanced of course. Please bring your face mask and your climbing legs. This ride has a few climbs though none too difficult.
