Distance: 34 miles Pace: B/C (moderate to brisk, occasional stops) Terrain: 4 (some steep climbs, with relief) Elevation gain: about 3,000 ft. Although we can't have a pool party this year, it doesn't mean we can't ride. Here's a longer version of the usual pool party ride taking in Redwood Road rather than Pinehurst. Starting at Orinda BART we'll proceed south on Moraga Road to Moraga and out to Pinehurst. But instead of going up Pinehurst we will turn left and...go up Pinehurst to Redwood Road. Thence we continue climbing to Skyline and then climb some more up Skyline to the top of Pinehurst. From there it's the usual route: Grizzly Peak all the way to Wildcat. But Old El Toyonal is a mess with construction right now, so we'll just take Wildcat all the way to Camino Pablo and head back to Orinda. For those who want to grab a bite to eat afterwards, we will find something in O-town such as Geppetto's, Cafe Teatro, Petra, or maybe Peets/Starbucks. Bring water and snacks although there will be a couple of public fountains we'll pass. Please check weather forecast prior to ride and dress accordingly. Meet at 10 am with a 10:15 roll out.
