Pace: B (moderate, occasional stops)
Terrain: 2 (few low hills, challenge for beginners)
Elevation gain: less than 1,500 ft.
This is a pleasant, no-stress ride from Orinda BART out to Moraga and then down the Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail, which is a rails-to-trail conversion. Then it's down the Iron Horse Trail to Danville where we'll get lunch at Sultan's Kebab if we can grab outdoor tables. Sultan's Kebab is a meat fiesta but they also have vegetarian and vegan selections. After lunch we'll stroll down Danville Blvd and through surface streets back to Orinda.
Meet at Orinda BART in front of the fare gates at 9:30 am, ride out at 9:45 am.
Check the weather the morning of and wear suitable clothing now that we're heading into autumn. Bring water and a snack.
