Join Roger and Tony on two classic Midpeninsula rides-in-one: Cañada Road on "Bicycle Sunday" and the Portola Loop. Cañada Road is closed to cars on Bicycle Sundays. The ride starts at the parking area at State Hwy 92 and Cañada Road in San Mateo. We roll south through Woodside and Portola Valley with a stop at the Arastradero Preserve before heading into the hills of Los Altos. We return on Foothill Blvd. and Sand Hill to Woodside for lunch at
Roberts Market. After lunch it's an easy stroll up Cañada Road to the start.
The Portola Loop and Cañada Road are probably the most ridden cycling routes in the entire Midpeninsula and Different Spokes has been going there since we were founded. To kick off our celebration of forty years of LGBT cycling we're heading back for forty miles of fun. Wear your club colors!
This is a rolling route with hills none of them sustained or hard. (If you want a harder Portola Loop, you'll have to wait for the Portola Heights ride aka "Wicked Portola". Stay tuned.)
Bring a snack and water as lunch comes towards the end of the ride. Bring a face covering to enter Roberts.
Meet at 9:30 am with a 10 am departure.
