I was going to go to Tennessee Beach for a picnic on Sunday, but decided my leg and energy level preferred a shorter ride. Don't worry though, there will be plenty of opportunity for extra miles and elevation if you want. This route will be similar to our first mixed surface ride of 2022 (minus the loop over to Tennessee Valley) We’ll leave Duboce Park Cafe (at Sanchez and Duboce in SF), cruise out the Wiggle to the Panhandle, Presidio (via Arguello), the GG Bridge, and Conzelman Road, catching dirt where we can. From the roundabout we’ll descend the Julian trail, catch Bunker Road up to the Bunker/McCullough intersection. We'll cruise down Rodeo Valley Trail and on out to Rodeo Beach.
We’ll pause for picnicking at the beach. BYO nourishment. I’m bringing bread, thin sliced gluten and bubbly (sparkling water--Champers would be nice, but I don’t want my ride back to be miserable). We'll return via the Baker Berry Tunnel. There will be options for more climbing and miles on the way back if you desire. Easy Peasy!
Sweeps? No
Is this a "no rider left behind" ride? No, but we will have a few regroups. We will keep an eye out for each other but if you are a new rider please either know the route or bring a map in case you get dropped from the group.
30% chance of rain or greater cancels (I checked. That's VERY unlikely)
