We'll meet at the parking area at Marinwood Community Center, on Miller Creek Road just north of Lucas Valley Road. We'll head west on Lucas Valley, up Big Rock Hill, then regroup in Nicasio. From there, it's off to Point Reyes Station for lunch. Someone please stop me from ordering two pieces of pizza at Bovine Bakery this time - it's so good, but I don't want to be carrying that with me on the way home. We'll ride down to Olema this time, and then start heading back on Sir Francis Drake to Platform Bridge, around Nicasio Reservoir with a quick stop in Nicasio before heading back up Lucas Valley to our starting point.
Some of us will have done the Pescadero ride the day before, so expect the pace to be relaxed.
This is the 8th ride in a 2022 summer/fall series to help people gear up for fall riding, including Foxy's Fall Century from Davis. We'll have longer rides as the series progresses. We'll ride routes all over the Bay Area. Most routes will be without a whole lot of stop signs and lights. We'll try to avoid excessive smoke, and we'll cancel rides on days when the AQI is over 75. We'll try to avoid "Tours de Heat" as well.
Meals: Choose from several spots in Point Reyes Station, including Bovine Bakery. This ride usually finishes up around 3 pm.
Is this a "no rider left behind" ride? No, but we will have a few regroups. We will keep an eye out for each other but if you are a new rider please either know the route or bring a map in case you get dropped from the group.
