Winter/Spring Series #1 - Short and Sassy Tiburon Loop---CANCELLED DUE TO FORECAST RAIN

Distance: 24 miles
Pace: A+ (leisurely but not necessarily frequent stops)
Terrain: 3 (moderate hills, with some challenges)
Elevation gain: about 1,000 ft.

Meet up at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM ride out.

Join us for a 'kinder, gentler' Tiburon loop! Starting and ending at Mike's Bikes at the south end of the Mill Valley-Sausalito Path instead of in SF cuts the mileage of the Jersey Ride in half to just *24* miles. This shortened route keeps the best part--Paradise Drive and Tiburon--and ditches the moshpit on the Golden Gate Bridge and the slog up Alexander, which is always into a headwind. Yes, you can eat dessert first!

We'll meet up with the San Francisco group along the way and continue on the standard loop over Camino Alto and through Corte Madera by the Corte Madera-Larkspur Path over to Paradise Drive. We'll all stop at Woodlands Market in Tiburon for refreshment outside before returning. We then bid the San Francisco bound riders adieu at Mike's Bikes if not before. We'll check the weather in the morning and if there's a 30% chance of rain, will cancel and let those who are registered know. (So please preregister.)

This is the 1st ride in a 2023 winter/spring series to help people gear up for late spring and summer riding, including the Chico WIldflower ride, AIDS/LifeCycle, or your first metric or century of the year or ever! We'll have longer and more difficult rides as the series progresses. We'll ride routes all over the Bay Area. Most routes will be without a whole lot of stop signs and lights. We'll try not to ride in the rain, and there won't be a safety speech.

Don't have a car but want to come? Post a message to the Spokers forum on dssf.org and see if another member can help you out.

Meals:Lunch at Woodlands Market in Tiburon.

Sweeps? No

Is this a "no rider left behind" ride? No, but we will have a few regroups. We will keep an eye out for each other but if you are a new rider please either know the route or bring a map in case you get dropped from the group.
